Whenever an exchange offers a promotion for volume traders, some people known as washtraders are trading with themselves in order to increase their personal trading volume. This behavior is strictly forbidden. If exchanges find out about accounts setting sell and buy orders at the same time, suspects will receive a permanent suspension.
